Hi Everyone.

First, thank you for being here! This fundraiser has been created to support Dylan Dwyer and Tayla Schager as they walk through an unexpected and incredibly difficult journey with their newborn daughter, Millie. The family is facing extended hospital stays, travel out of town, and mounting medical expenses, and any support during this time means more than words can express.

At 37 weeks, Dylan Dwyer and Tayla Schager went in for a non-stress test due to low fetal movement. After further testing, doctors determined Millie needed to be delivered immediately. During labor, Millie’s heart rate began to drop, and she was delivered via C-section.

At birth, Millie was placed on a breathing tube and diagnosed with hydrops and pulmonary hypertension, causing severe fluid buildup in her abdomen, an inflamed liver, and low kidney function. She required an oscillating ventilator and intensive care. After starting at 100% oxygen, Millie has made progress and is now down to 49%.

As her abdominal swelling worsened, Millie was transferred to Children’s Hospital in Omaha. Upon arrival, doctors drained 100 mL of fluid, which immediately improved her oxygen levels and pulmonary pressures. Her kidney function is improving but continues to be closely monitored.

Millie was prenatally diagnosed with Turner syndrome and remains critically ill, but she continues to show incredible strength. Dylan and Tayla are staying in Omaha while family cares for their other children.

With prolonged NICU care, travel to Omaha, lodging, time away from work, and ongoing medical expenses, the financial burden on Millie’s family is significant.
