Hi everyone, my name is Rachael. I had recently decided to take on this sweet stray baby who showed up giving us a cry for food and help, we fed her outside and she was always greeting us with her tail up. About a week ago I noticed she had wanted to come inside and I decided to allow her to have a safe place to stay and took her in, and I've since grown incredibly attached to her. Being horribly bad at names, one of my dear friends named her Sampo after a video game character and that has since stuck. The first night she was inside, she jumped up on the bed, curled up right infront of my face and fell asleep. It was only a short while of falling inlove with her, but the impact she had on me was more than I can describe before I discovered devastating news.

During the first vet visit I had asked if she might be pregnant, and noticed she walked strangely to which the first vet told me she was perfectly healthy and was not likely pregnant. Upon seeing another doctor and emergency vet, it's been uncovered that she was hit by a car, pregnant with three kittens, and severely constipated (this has now turned into obstipation as I type)

The car hitting her has caused her pelvis bones to break in a way that's causing her to be constipated/obstipation and is posing a danger to not only herself but her three kittens, as she is unable to defecate or give birth to these kittens.

I received the call this morning around 9:30AM on August 1st 2025 after two long visits to the emergency vet and was notified that they would need to perform surgery to relieve her constipation / manually extract obstipation, save or remove her uterus and babies, and potentially amputate her leg. The quote I was given was anywhere between $8k - 13k, increased up to over 20k based on any complications (amputation, c section, medication) . I'm attempting to take out a loan that I'm unsure will get approved for and I'm currently using Scratchpay to support her, but I have run out of options. Scratchpay has only granted me $8k, all donations will go towards the rest of her bill as needed to save her life.

As I write this she is currently at the ER still, I'm desperately seeking any finanicial help or support from any people or organizations who can offer their help for her to live.

She is loving, friendly, and incredibly trusting. I'm trying to do everything I can for her. She has an incredible will to live it and I want to do everything that I can to give her what she deserves.

I'm hoping she can get the love and life she deserves with the help of everyone, I do not want her to suffer and I have been asked to take the moment to consider euthanasia, but that truly is an option I not only never want to imagine, but I truly hope is only a last resort.
