Stray Animal Shelters & Veterinary Clinics in Ukraine
Donation protected
Hi my name is Adrian Chubb and I am raising funds targeting stray animal shelters and veterinary clinics in Ukraine.
The shelters are doing amazing work saving and treating stray animals who have been the unfortunate victims of abandonment, accidents, conflict related injuries, vehicle impacts or just plain human abuse and neglect
The funds raised will go to enabling rescue, treatment and recovery of the animals and feeding. Ongoing shelter and finding a home for a better life with more safety.
Finally a charity has engaged with me me on the challenge and it is IFAW - International Fund for Animal Welfare. Detaiols on their work can be found via: www.ifaw.org
Please support me to help the animals of Ukraine, and other animals around the world.
The challenge will start Thursday 16th May 2024 and is a sizeable undertaking of 428Km distance and (267miles) with 71,464feet (21, 781 metres) of ascent. All self-propelled and carrying supplies on my back. I do have a cracking friend providing support for replenishment at certain points and that is essential. Tent and mountain shelter accommodation throughout.
The challenge route takes in 50 odd mountains (all above 3,000ft above sea-level) in the majestic Cairngorms National Park, situated in the Highlands of Scotland. Weather in this part of the world is somewhat 'changeable' so that will be a significant factor in the 'experience' of the challenge.
Since first posting the fundraiser there has been a considerable level of generosity of people and without getting all soppy it is deeply, deeply appreciated. I promise the funds will all go to do good in this world. Your generosity brings a high level of accountability on to me; that's a good thing, so thank you all again.
Should you be amenable then spreading the word by onpassing the GoFundMe link would be absolute magic!!!
I have changed the name of the challenge to: The Lynn Jones Memorial Challenge. Reason for doing this is to recognise the recent passing of my Uncle Lynn Jones - a proud Welshman and animal lover who will be seriously missed. RIP Uncle 'Taff'. This will bring another level of accountability as he was a tough, hard nosed Welshman from the valleys who was soft as a b****ck with animals - this one's for you butty!!!!!
I will be posting updates as and when signal and achievement permits.
Please wish me good fortune and thoughts should eb for our animal friends, some of whom will reap the benefits from your precious donations - thank you one and all. My aim is not to let you down and get it done!
