Hello, my name is Amal Elsayed and I am the founder and general manager of Pets Are People Too, a pet hotel and boarding service here in Cairo, Egypt and today we are looking to raise funds for our beloved stray dogs and cats who come to our door every day in helpless and desperate straits looking for any bit of nourishment that can get in a hot and polluted city. This is something we have always believed in - doing whatever it takes to provide for and protect the rights and welfare of animals, no matter how difficult the material need may be, and therefore we have felt the need to establish a Gofundme campaign in hopes of alleviating the overwhelming suffering of the poor and innocent street angels we see around us everyday.

Unfortunately in Egypt, there are not enough government funds or programs available to provide for the sustenance and shelter of stray animals in Cairo or the country nor are there hardly any programs providing for public-wide spaying and neutering of strays that could prevent the further overpopulation and further growth of widespread hunger.

Recently as many may know, the economic situation in Egypt has taken a sharp downturn in the past few years and the cost of basic food supplies has skyrocketed for the average Egyptian meaning even lesser concern and food to go around for these vulnerable and neglected street animals.

We're asking those who have found this campaign and anyone concerned with the welfare and safety of these voiceless and helpless animals to please give whatever you're able to. Any and every pound is a blessing and will put food (and medicine) directly into the mouth of a desperate and vulnerable street angel who rarely experiences these kindnesses from the environment around him!

In the interest of absolute transparency we have detailed an allocation of funds below..

Expense Allocation:

- Food to feed stray street cats and dogs every single day (Water, rice, chicken, vegetables, canned wet food).

- Food and medicines for dogs who have been abandoned at the door of Pets Are People Too and are under our direct care while they seek adoption.

- Emergency or medically necessary surgeries for our stray and abandoned dogs - spaying, neutering and vaccinations.

- Rehoming and adoption abroad - rabies tests, health certificates, and other related expenses.

We currently have 3 rescue cats and 7 rescue dogs (2 Chihuahuas and 5 Egyptian Baladies) that have been living with us for several years at Pets Are People Too and are still seeking a loving and caring home at this very moment. Once they seek our help, we cannot and will not ever abandon an animal that is desperate and sleeping at our doorstep.
