My request here on GoFundMe comes out of extreme necessity. I need help.
Many of you know about my on-going battle with the banking industry where corruption runs rampant. I am happy to report that, slowly, some of the truth is coming out and corruption is being exposed. I'm suing for wrongful foreclosure and have been to court about eight times now with no firm end in sight.
Before all this litigation started, I rented my house hoping steady rental income would benefit me. Instead, once the litigation started, my tenant decided to stop paying rent. To date, I am owed in excess of $15,000 dollars. I am actively working on trying to rectify this situation but it has been an uphill battle...battle number two.
Battle number three: Last week at my beautiful home south of San Felipe, a trio of suspicious people walked onto my patio. Fortunately, I was able to take photos of them which many of you have seen.
A young woman and a young man came to my door. The woman asked for water. I gave her a bottle of water. The man asked for gasoline. I told him I had non. Feeling uncomfortable, I asked them to please leave.
The woman had drunk half of the bottle then threw the remaining water in my face. She grabbed my cell phone and took off running. I made a grab for her sleeve when I felt a knife in my stomach. I have no idea where he came from but he had just stabbed me in the abdomen. Thank the universe for a well used dull 16” knife that did not penetrate past a 'scratch' level but did leave a huge bruise along with the prick from the blade. It was lucky that I had a length of 5" PVC pipe within grabbing distance. Snatching up the pipe, the man with the knife and I started to 'fence.' With the length of pipe putting distance between him and me, I was able to smack him in the knee and bestow a limp in his stride. Unable to get close to me, he jumped on a nearby retaining wall and started throwing rocks as hard as he could. I stopped one rock aimed at my head but my hand came out worse for wear when the bandidos ran off. I glanced down at my hand only to stare at the bone that was showing at the base of my ring finger along with macerated flesh. I tried to drive to San Felipe but was feeling faint so I drove to a neighbor's house. My neighbor graciously took me to the hospital in San Felipe where I was stitched up and given antibiotics.
The next day, the Police caught the man who had attacked me with the knife. I had to follow the police and the offender to Ensenada, where I spent four hours at the police station. When my report was complete, I drove to San Diego to stay with a friend.
The next day I felt bad. I was advised to go to the Emergency Room. Once I showed the medical staff my hand, they took me right in. I was subsequently admitted to the hospital where I spent 24 hours on an antibiotics drip. After the xray of my hand was read, I learned my finger was also dislocated. A hand surgeon reset my finger and put me in a Splint for a week till the stitches come out. Once the stitches are out, the doctor will then put my hand in a cast. The ligaments have also been stretched. I have been warned that if the alignment goes off track again, I will need surgery to reset it.
I make my living by from renting my house and making art with my hands. Needless to say, both are gone for now. This is why I'm here writing the hardest request in my life. If you can find it your heart to help I would be forever grateful and promise to pay it forward. I'm now facing unexpected medical bills and need to hire a criminal attorney in Mexico to press charges. I am trying to find some humor in all of this but I can't find any. Didn't know the funny bone is situated in a finger...
If you can donate any amount, it would make a huge difference in my life right now. I also have some mosaics still for sale...
And, to cap it all off, I just learned that the man who tried to kill me is out of jail and free until the trial. What to do??? He knows where I live. How do I continue?
