Strauss Strong

Morgan Strauss has recently been diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Burkitt’s is a highly aggressive type of B-cell lymphoma and requires a rigorous treatment plan. Morgan is one of the strongest, kindest women I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with. She is a mother of three, Daniel (6), Brody (4), and the newest addition to the family baby Audrey (9 months).

When I visited Morgan in the hospital, prior to her diagnosis, her first words to me were, I need the doctors to figure out what is wrong so I can get better and back to my patients. To say she was born to be a nurse is an understatement. Her dedication to her patients and passion for the profession of nursing is inspiring. Morgan is fighting a fierce battle against this cancer and I have no doubt she will beat it! Her strength and positive attitude is extraordinary.

Morgan’s Mother Baby Unit at Virtua started a meal train, hired a cleaning service, and continues to donate vacation time so that she can maintain a portion of her income. Morgan’s husband Chris, is her rock and has been holding everything down on the home front. After work, Chris is on full daddy duty and handling the current situation with gratitude and grace. All that Chris has asked for is that their friends and loved ones help keep Morgan’s mind strong and positive, and visit whenever possible. Morgan loves the company!

We are asking for financial donations for Morgan’s treatment and care. Whatever you can afford to give is greatly appreciated! No amount is too small. Every contribution will go directly towards childcare, medical expenses, and whatever else Morgan and her family may need to help them rest a little easier.
