Stratford De Anza 2023 5th Grade Send-Off Event

Dear parents, family members, friends and supporters,

My name is Bill (William) Strathearn and I am one of two room parents for the Stratford De Anza 5th Grade class. Priyanka Roshyan is the other room parent.

I am writing to request your support for a very special event: the Stratford De Anza 5th Grade Send-Off. This fundraiser benefits the students, parents, family members and teachers associated with this class, as attendees of the send-off event. The funds raised from this campaign will be provided to and spent by volunteer parents that are helping to organize and produce the event. The event attendees are indirect recipients of these funds.

This event celebrates the hard work and achievements of our students as they transition from elementary school to middle school.

In the past, this event has been a highlight of the year for our 5th graders. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the school has been unable to hold this celebration for the past several years. That's why we are asking for your help to make this year's event a wonderful celebration of the return to normal end-of-year gatherings.

We are hoping to raise $3,523 to cover the costs of food and drinks, decorations, games, and treats for our students and teachers. These expenses cannot be paid for with regular school tuition. With your support, we can make this event a memorable and fun-filled experience for our children as they prepare to embark on their next chapter.

Every donation counts, no matter how big or small and a donation to this fundraiser is not a requirement for participation in the event.

Your generosity will make a real difference in the way our students and teachers remember their elementary school experience. Please consider donating to our cause and sharing our campaign with your friends and family.

Note that these are only estimates and if for some reason, we have money left over, we will donate it to the specialty teachers in the form of gift cards or convert it to new amenities for the event.

If for some reason, this event is underfunded, we may need to subtract items from the budget and pull back on our promises to the school on what we may provide.

After the fundraiser, I plan to delegate event expense purchasing duties to the parent volunteers. Those volunteers will keep receipts for their purchases and communicate the total amount spent back to me, along with a photo of the receipt. The receipts will be linked to the budget spreadsheet. Any funds that remain, once the budgeted items have been purchased, will be directly given to the teaching staff at Stratford De Anza in the form of gift cards to thank them for the years of help and service they have provided our children.
