Hi, my name is Toya. I'm from San Francisco, California. I’m currently stranded in Jamaica after the devastating hurricane. The airports are severely damaged, homes and businesses destroyed, and the cost of everything — food, shelter, and basic necessities — has skyrocketed.
I’ve just been informed that I may not be able to leave Jamaica until November 25, 2025, and my heart is breaking. I’m a single mother of two beautiful daughters, and being away from them this long has been unbearable. I miss them deeply and just want to get back home to my girls, my job, school, my family, and everyday responsibilities.
This situation has left me feeling helpless and scared. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I’m doing my best to stay strong and keep my faith, but the uncertainty is overwhelming.
I’m asking for help to cover food, shelter, and travel expenses so I can return home safely and reunite with my children. Any amount you can give — no matter how small — will make a huge difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, support, and prayers.
I’ve lost everything. We have no water, no food, and nowhere safe to go. The Hotel Riu Montego Bay is taking advantage of stranded American tourists — raising prices sky-high and locking us out of our rooms until we pay. We’re scared, exhausted, and just trying to survive one day at a time.
Please, anything helps right now — even a small donation can help me get food, water, and a safe place to stay until I can make it home.
— Toya
