Devoted Cat Rescuer

I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea for help on behalf of my friend Phyllis, who is a dedicated and compassionate cat rescuer in Spain. Every day Phyllis faces tremendous challenges to provide food, medication, and love to countless cats in need. Her selflessness and determination are truly inspiring, but she needs our help.

The Situation

Phyllis is facing an extremely challenging situation. She has been left behind in a remote Spanish village by a difficult ex-partner and is completely stranded—she doesn’t drive, and has no opportunities for paid work. The house she is staying in lacks hot water and has only limited electricity, making her living conditions extremely harsh. She is barely managing to get by.

For years, Phyllis has been rescuing cats from the streets and giving them a safe home. Despite the inadequate and deteriorating state of her own living conditions, her home is currently a refuge for many cats that would otherwise be homeless. She uses all her limited resources for cat food, veterinary care, and essential medications. Her commitment to these animals is truly remarkable.

However, Phyllis's dire living conditions and the overwhelming costs of caring for the cats are straining her resources. She is finding it increasingly difficult to manage both the needs of the cats and her own precarious situation. While we are seeking long-term solutions, she urgently needs assistance right now.

• Covering Veterinary Expenses: Paying for necessary medical treatments and vaccinations.

Blondie was found under a car bonnet. Fortunately she was not injured. The vet explained that the driver did not stop to look under the bonnet but kept driving till he got to the vets.

Eli is FIV positive, he is very friendly and gets on well with other cats and dogs.

Maple is about one year old and is a sweetie. She loves attention and cuddles and gets on well with both cats and dogs

Marmalade is a big fluff ball. She and her brother were thrown down a hill at one month old, they were found the neighbours. She is a gentle and quiet girl.

There was nothing soft about Cashmere when she was fostered with her two siblings. She was one feisty ginger girl but has mellowed over time. So far, I am unable to rehome her.

Harriet is about 7 years of age. She is quite shy when meeting people but gets on well with the other cats in the upper enclosure.

Talia was originally one of my outdoor crew but I managed to catch her when pregnant. She gave birth to 5 kittens, 4 of whom now have forever homes.

Milo is the son of Talia He is a gentle soul who loves cuddles and gets on well with the other cats in the upper enclosure.

Paco is FIV positive and is one of my outdoor crew. He is very friendly, loves cuddles and has a special bond with Eli.

Monkey and his brother were found on the streets with terrible eye infections and very underweight. It didn't take them long to recover but unfortunately, Monkey was diagnosed with renal failure, with medical intervention and the correct diet he is doing well.

Mouse, like his brother Monkey came to us after being rescued off the streets. Unfortunately, he is not well at the moment, suffering from mouth ulcers which is causing him a lot of discomfort

Cheech is the brother of Shakira and Cashmere and he was the complete opposite. He was ever so friendly, loved cuddles and was most protective of his sisters when rescued off the streets.

Bagheera is FIV positive. Although quite shy to start with he is learning to trust more and is now seeking attention and chin rubs

Mango is about one year old and very sweet. He gets on well with both cats and dogs.

Pumpkin is gorgeous boy and about one year old.

He loves cuddles and gets on well with both cats and dogs.

Shakira is about 12 years old and although feral to begin with she has mellowed with age. Unfortunately, no one has shown any interest in her.

Evie is about 2 years old. We thought he was girl but decided to keep the name as he didn't respond when we tried to change it. He's a funny boy, he prefers the company of cats and dogs rather than humans. He loves treats and when training new puppies Evie is there and does well with instructions given.
