La stratosfera è definita come la zona dell’atmosfera compresa tra 12 km e 50 km caratterizzata da condizioni termiche, radiative, di esposizione alla radiazione solare che contribuiscono a renderla simile alle condizioni tipiche dello Spazio - il cui limite inferiore è la linea di Karman, posta a 100km.

STRA2SPHERA nasce con l’intento di dare per la prima volta nella storia un accesso allo Spazio alla Regione Campania senza raggiungerlo effettivamente. Il nostro pallone sarà il primo oggetto interamente concepito, lanciato nella stratosfera e recuperato in Campania. Nato dall’idea di due studenti della Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Aerospaziale dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Claudia Guerra e Raffaele Minichini, e supportato da SEDS unina - associazione studentesca con l'obiettivo di promuovere l'esplorazione e la ricerca spaziale -, il progetto garantirà a studenti, a qualsiasi Università e al pubblico generalista una piattaforma a basso costo per sperimentare, osservare o, più semplicemente, volare godendo del panorama e delle condizioni che solo la stratosfera è in grado di offrire.

Per fare tutto questo, per farlo in modo sicuro ed efficace, abbiamo bisogno anche del tuo contributo: l’idea di una piattaforma riutilizzabile per l’invio di immagini e dati e che consenta il recupero di campioni ci sta richiedendo e richiederà di sostenere numerose spese. Supportando la nostra idea contribuirai attivamente allo sviluppo di tante ricerche che attendono solo una piattaforma per essere lanciate e contribuirai a rendere realtà il nostro sogno di avere uno spazio nello Spazio.

The stratosphere is the atmosphere layer between 12 and 50 km of altitude. It is characterized by thermal, radiative, and solar exposure conditions that make it extremely close to the typical conditions in Space – which begins with the Karman line, at 100 km.

STRA2SPHERA aims to provide, for the first time in history, a pathway to Space for the Campania region without the need to actually reach Space. Our balloon will be the first object completely designed, launched, and recovered in Campania. Born from an idea of two MSc Aerospace Engineering Students at the University of Naples Federico II, Claudia Guerra and Raffaele Minichini, and supported by SEDS unina – a student association with the goal of promoting space research and exploration -, the project will allow students, Universities, and the general public, to experiment, test, or simply enjoy the incredible view that only the stratosphere can offer.

To make all of this possible - and do it in the safest and most effective way - we need your help: the idea of a reusable platform to send data and images, and that will allow for the retrieval of samples will require numerous expenses. By supporting our idea, you will directly contribute to the development of many research activities just waiting for a platform to be launched, and you will help us make our dream of having a space within Space a reality.
