As a young Orthodox women, I am eager to learn more about my faith and define ways of contributing to Church Life activities and services. It is especially crucial that Orthodox Christians living in America should strive to grow in our knowledge about our ancient faith and preserve it for future generations as we do not live in a country where practicing Traditional Orthodoxy is understood or encouraged.
Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary offers accredited first-year foundational courses in:
Old Testament
New Testament
Classical Civilization
Patristics
Statistics
Liturgical & Byzantine Chant
English Composition
European History
These first-year classes of the Bachelor's program are taught from the perspective of Traditional Orthodox scholarship, Patristic and New Testament witness and will strengthen my spirituality as I gain a professional foundation for service in the Orthodox community. My degree will facilitate my eventual teaching role and will allow a greater involvement within the Church.
