Hello family, friends, parishioners, and strangers!
My name is George Kircher I am a boy scout in Troop 72 based in Westfield, NJ. I am working to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, part of which includes completing a project to benefit the community and raising funds for completion of the project. The beneficiary of my project in my church, St.Pauls in Westfield NJ.
COVID 19 has been a real challenge in securing approvals and required a significant amount of re-work on the safety section of my project plan.
My project is based around updating the street level lighting, replacing plant beds, and plants that surround the front of the church. The outdated Halogen lights are expensive to operate and inefficient which increases the carbon footprint of the church. The plant beds are oversized and a burden to the volunteers at the church who maintain the beds each week.
The first thing I am doing is working with Precision Tree Care to pull out and dispose of the current greenery. Afterward, Seiffert Electrical will install the new LED floodlights which will save the church about $600 annually on energy expenses! Then using volunteer labor we will shrink the garden beds and plant new flora which will be more visually appealing and easier for the flower guild to maintain. This will save hundreds of hours annually of back pain-inducing trimming, cutting, and deadheading.
I ask that you support me and my project.
Thank you, George
