November 1st was a really tough day for the Roy family. At 2am the little brook by our home became a raging river and we lost half of our living space to the flash flooding that occurred all over northern Vermont. This included two of our homes three bedrooms, a bathroom, three closets, the laundry room, and our beloved studio that my husband had just finished a little less than a year ago. The studio was where I would create my artwork and host massage clients. It’s where my husband performed all of his freelance video editing work. It was a place for our children to relax and play with legos, watch movies, do homework, have sleepovers, and play ping pong.
Like many Vermonters, we are overwhelmed and devastated by the destruction just a foot of moving water has caused. We are counting our blessing that no one was hurt. Our 4 children and everything that was on the ground floor of our humble home has been moved upstairs into our living room, dining room, and 1 bedroom where it will remain until we can gut the downstairs and rehabilitate it. Unfortunately without flood insurance it is going to take us a long time to get back to normal. Please consider donating to our house rehabilitation efforts if you can. ❤️
