Stove got Trucked: Our boy got hit by a Car

Hey guys, its me, Ryan Greene.

Our boy Stove was going about his business performing his paper route when he was struck by a car open exiting his vehicle. While we don't have 100% of the details yet, it messed him up pretty hard.

I'll update the story once we have the police report, but Stove got a concussion from the impact and said he doesn't recall anything.

Our boy was struck, and his left tibia was shattered (a rod was surgically installed into his leg). His left hip was broken (he's too young to have a new hip inserted, so it was rebuilt), and he sustained damage to his beautiful face (while we didn't get exactly what happened, what most likely happened is he has a fractured right orbital) which will need to have surgery to fix.

Stove has health insurance, so he'll be getting treatment. He should be getting out today: he was supposed to get out yesterday but needed a blood transfusion.

What's most likely going to happen is that worker's comp won't cover the incident because Stove is a contractor. This means in New Jersey that technically his being hit is treated as an auto accident and billed on his insurance. He'll need to pursue that legally to get a payout through the person who hit him.

With all that in mind, this Gofundme is to benefit Stove directly. Any money recieved will be a) linked up to his direct checking account or b) put into a new checking account with Stove as the primary account holder. Any money recieved will be used to 1) cover lost wages while he's off his feet 2) make any adjustments he may need to his car / where he's at for accessibility 3) assist in covering any medical expenses that may arise 4) assist in covering any legal expenses he may need to front potentially.

The hope IS that his insurance / pursuing legal means will cover any medical costs and that a lawyer would hopefully be brought on a contingency fee (paid upon an award/settlement is received), but we'll see what happens.

Stove should be coming out of the hospital hopefully today (06/06), and is thankful for all the friends who came to surround him and looks forward to getting better. He's in good spirits and loves you all.
