My name is Rey and I am a professional artist and adoring pet mom to 4 rescues. Almost all of my spare time is spent advocating and raising awareness for senior, disabled, homeless, or special needs cats & dogs. I mainly do this through charitable art and avid social posting and I donate when I can to my local shelter as well as to Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue in AZ, & NorCal Bully Breed Rescue in CA. I work from home and am with them 24/7 and simply can't imagine not having a single one of them. Not to mention all 4 of them greatly help alleviate my severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD.  Stormie - my 1 year old 5 pound kitten - surprised us last night when she started vomiting and wouldn't stop. She started hiding in weird places, stopped eating and drinking, wouldn't move, and made weird noises whenever her tummy was touched. This set off our alarms so we scheduled a vet appointment and slept next to her all night, checking on her every 10 minutes to make sure she was still okay and to clean up her puke. The next morning (today 11/1/19) I noticed severe vaginal bleeding and puss and we had to rush her to the hospital. I initially thought she had tulip poisoning and would need to be on an IV drip but it turned out she had a severe uterus infection called "pyometra" which when left untreated is fatal. She required immediate medical surgery, a ton of medications, and over night emergency room care. We spent almost 10 hours waiting in hospital rooms for her crying and have officially maxed out my credit card. She currently is in the ER but things are looking up. My bank account however is looking down. Way down.
