On Tuesday, July 15th, our sweet dog Storm suddenly lost function in her left hind leg within hours. The day before, she was perfectly fine: happy, energetic, running around like her usual playful self. At first, she started limping. But things quickly got progressively worse, as she began dragging her leg, and then her entire lower body, across the floor. Storm has been panting in pain and clearly suffering, which has been incredibly difficult to watch.

We rushed her to the emergency vet clinic, where they told us that this is most likely a neurological issue in her spine. To know for sure, and to help her, Storm needs an MRI which alone costs $5,000 to $7,000. The doctors believe that surgery will also be needed, which would bring the total cost of care to around $15,000.

Unfortunately, this is far beyond what we can afford on our own. That’s why we’re turning to our community and anyone who has ever loved a pet for help.

Storm is not just our dog, she’s our family. If you’ve ever met her, you know that she’s a total bundle of energy, always running, jumping, and zooming around with joy. Seeing Storm unable to move, in constant pain, and confused about what’s happening to her is absolutely heartbreaking.
