Storm Donations for Debbie
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Jill, and I work at United Cargo Management in Charleston, SC. Our team at UCM decided to create this GoFundme to help our colleague and good friend, Ms. Debbie Page. Hurricane Idalia went through Mayo, Florida (Debbie's hometown) last week causing major destruction. UCM is asking for your donations, however big or small, so Debbie can get the help she needs for cleaning and repairing all the damages to her home.
In Debbie's words,
"My house is a mess, this has been the hardest week of my life.
I have around 20-30 trees down, my fence is down, minor roof damage to my house, front porch has all the screens out, door is ruined, my water pump house is completely gone. 1 tree fell on my power line so I still don’t have power.
I’ve tried for a year to get insurance but because the home is so old I couldn’t find anyone that would. I have a company coming today to start pushing all the trees to the road so that FEMA will pick them up but that’s at least a 2-day job.
I know I was lucky because my home is still standing but it’s so overwhelming. I’ve cried all I can cry so now I’m doing what I can do every day and just taking one task at a time."
“The ache for home lives in all of us.” — Maya Angelou, American memoirist, poet and civil rights activist
"There's no place like home." — Dorothy, The Wizard of Oz
The funds raised will go directly to Debbie's bank account for home cleaning and repairing the damage caused by Idalia.
Please join us in helping our sweet friend get back home. Thank you so much!
