Storm damage repair & future pitch development

On Friday 18th February, Storm Eunice caused major damage to one of our pitches at Mayfield GAA.

Three of the 40ft goal netting poles were completely destroyed. One of these poles also caused major damage to the goal structure itself.

All poles, netting and goal posts will have to be completely replaced.

Initial cost estimates for repair are in the region of €25,000 - €30,000.

Unfortunately the damaged caused was to our only floodlit pitch and it couldn’t of happened at a worse time with Adult, Juvenile and Ladies teams all due to start back training in the coming weeks.

Mayfield GAA club is a community based club which boasts a strong membership of 160+ members and has teams participating in all levels and ages ranging from Adult to Academy.

We really hope that with your support we will have the facilities back open in a few months so that all our girls and boys can get back enjoying Gaelic games again.
