I am the eldest child of my parents, Emily Arriaga. I am eighteen years old and a senior in high school. I am writing this for my family (both of my parents and my four-year-old sister), we were living without power in our house for two weeks because of a storm that occurred on the 30th of March. The storm caused a tree to fall down, and this exact tree pulled and ripped a power cord, causing our power box to also be pulled out, and now we need a new power box. Multiple holes in our roof are causing leaks in our house. Just a week before, one of our cars broke down, and now the car needs a new motor. We are hoping it’s just that and we don’t need a new car.
My dad currently doesn't have a job, and that also includes me. We live paycheck to paycheck as most other Americans do. The paychecks we get, which are from my mom's job, covered our bills and food.
Thank you for reading all the way through. I hope this reaches people and some of you can help us. Once again, thank you. May your kindness be repaid.
