Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out with an urgent request for support.
This past Thursday, a powerful thunderstorm swept through Richmond, Virginia, where my family lives. The high winds, heavy rain, and fallen branches caused a leak in my brother’s bedroom ceiling. Over the weekend, the damage worsened — a large bulge formed in the ceiling, and by Sunday, it completely collapsed.
Thankfully, no one was hurt. But now we’re facing serious concerns:
- UPDATE: The home, built in 1964, was recently confirmed to have asbestos in the affected room following the incident.
- My entire family has been displaced and is currently living in a hotel.
- Insurance is covering the restoration, but we're responsible for the deductible, which is still a major financial strain.
