Please help us! We had just finished installing our new track system around our fields when Storm Bert hit and wiped the whole thing away! Completely unexpected and unpredicable catastrophe and a massive blow to our charity when we'd just finished the fundraising appeal to get the track installed. We now desperately need funds to repair the damage and hopefully prevent this happening again, meaning much more structural work is required with a new strategy to include more drainage, limestone, scalpings etc to reconstruct the track and solidify the foundations to prevent future storm damage. The storm also caused flooding across the fields and many of our grazing areas are now unusable due to the ponies being knee deep in mud, so we are also pushing to buy more mud control mats which are an absolute life saver in these awful winter conditions we're experiencing. Our long term goal is to build a second barn to provide more shelter and hard standing for the ponies but currently we are barely keeping our heads above water - literally!
Please please donate to help us ensure a safe and healthy environment for our 61 rescue ponies, many of whom have come from awful circumstances and deserve a second chance at life in a happy safe environment. We also have around 50 ponies placed in their 'forever homes' who we need to keep reserve funds for in case any should ever need to return to us in unforseen circumstances.
More information about the ponies, how to set up regular sponsorship, or how to rehome a pony can be found on our website www.mini-munchkins.org or our Facebook page Munchkins Miniature Shetland Rescue.
This storm damage has been a massive blow to us so please help us with this fundraising goal to help us care for these animals in need.
