Storm- Audrey's Kitten Cuddle Buddy and Tiny Fur Baby.

Hi. I am Rhianna Sutherland, a local piano teacher, music director, and mom of 4 children. After a terrible year, I have restarted my life, and that included adopting a kitten apiece for each of my 3 youngest children. On September 15th, my daughter Audrey's kitten broke his hind right leg. This happened at about 6:30 to 8am, when I happened to be attending my daily recovery meeting. He could have been wrestling with his kitten brothers, or jumped off of something too high. It is not uncommon for a 5 month old kitten to still have tender bones. The vet assured me this is not an injury that will heal on it's own, and that we are facing 3 options: euthanasia, amputation, or surgery. Honestly, euthanasia is the only option I can feasibly afford, but I bought these kittens specifically for my children to bring them comfort during an unexpected divorce and family split. Ending this kitten's life would traumatize Audrey. She named him "Storm" and is a sweet and caring Cat-Mom to him. When I adopted these kittens, I thought I was still a client of Oceanside Veterinary Clinic, but they have since closed down. The only other vet in town is not accepting new clients, so I canceled all of my piano students, and made the trip to Veneta yesterday, and the office visit and x-rays were $421. I choose the amputation route which is around $2000 versus surgery which would be about $4000, and it was suggested to me by others in recovery that I start this plea for financial help. As of today, September 16th, Storm is at home being loved and comforted, and we are helping him eat, drink, and got potty. I asked the vet to administer a 3 day shot to help keep him as pain-free as possible, and in the meantime, I am going to utilize every resource to try and pay for this surgery. His pain medicine runs out by Thursday at the latest. My children rallied, and without any prompting from me, deleted all of their Amazon wishlists, and are coming up with all sorts of fundraising ideas to help save Storm.
