This is my nephew Liam. He is 2 years old and in a fight for his life. It started Saturday night when he woke up vomiting and running a fever, his mom thought it was a virus and would pass. He continued vomiting and running a fever the entire weekend and his mom Taylor took him to his Dr on Monday afternoon. They ran several tests including strep, RSV, and flu which they said all came back negative, that he had caught a virus that was going around and should be better within 48 hours and they were sent home. He continued declining Monday night and by Tuesday morning he was barely able to speak, and had developed a red rash over his torso. Taylor took him to the nearest ER fearing the worst. He was immediately brought back and put into isolation. They began running numerous tests and discovered his kidneys were shutting down and he would need to be transferred to the children’s hospital. Sweet Liam took his first ambulance ride to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. While preparing to get him upstairs to his room he began to decline further and coded. The Dr’s were able to resuscitate him and he was placed on a ventilator because he was so weak he was no longer able to breathe for himself. His blood pressure was low, his WBC were critical and his kidneys are now completely shut down. He is now septic and suffering from hypovolemic shock. The Drs are saying he will be in the hospital 3-4 weeks. His dad is in the Air Force and is currently overseas, his mom is a Mammographer and is currently out of work to be with Liam. The hospital has offered them a room at the Ronald McDonald House but it’s not free. That where friends and family are needed! They need some financial assistance to be able to stay near Liam at the Ronald McDonald House. Please help in anyway you can to keep Liam’s family nearby!
