My name is Shelby. I’m a proud mother to a wonderful little boy and the wife of a dedicated U.S. Marine. Since 2015, I’ve been pursuing a passion that brings me joy and purpose—discovering and reselling beautiful vintage and antique treasures. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something more when I realized how much others appreciated the unique items I was finding through one of my favorite pastimes: shopping.

Over the years, I’ve seen various parts of the country and saw firsthand that not every area offers access to high-quality vintage goods. That’s when I began sharing my finds with others who were searching for something special.

After earning my degree in Psychology, I found myself unsure of where to go next. I knew I didn’t want to settle into a traditional 9-to-5 job that would keep me away from my son. I wanted a career that would not only support my family but also bring me true fulfillment. That’s when I made the decision to turn my passion into a full-time business—and I’ve never looked back.

In 2023, I took a major step forward by opening my first booth at a local antique mall. When my dream location called to say a space had become available, I jumped at the chance. The booth was an immediate success, and I soon opened a second location at The Olde Engine Works in East Stroudsburg, which has also flourished. Through this experience, I’ve discovered a strong and growing demand for antique markets in our region. However, available vendor spaces are limited and often taken quickly by existing sellers.

This demand inspired a new dream: opening my own antique mall. With our close proximity to New Jersey and the Poconos—a popular vacation destination—I’m confident the location and timing are right for this business to thrive.

The challenge I face now is financial. Launching this venture requires significant upfront costs, including up to $36,000 for six months’ rent and an additional $5,000 in startup supplies. While I plan to manage operations myself in the beginning, hiring staff will eventually be necessary to support growth and customer service.

I’ve developed a detailed business plan and am now seeking support to take this next step. I believe deeply in this vision—not just for myself, but for my family and community. I want to show my son what it means to build something meaningful through hard work and heart. I want to make my husband, my family, and myself proud by bringing this dream to life.
