Our Human Experience (OHE) Podcast is a medium for storytelling where regular people impart tales about their life, their journey, their human experience. We contemplate illness, wellness, misfortune, recovery, survival and other encounters and dive deep into the complexities of living our human experience.

I ask for your support with this crowdfunding event as I have limited opportunities to create income. I have lived a very active working life, full of travel and adventure, which I am grateful for; however, currently, I am afflicted by a debilitating autoimmune disease. Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis means I am losing control of some of my faculties, I have difficulty walking, I can no longer drive, and half of my body is numb.

Due to this, at times I have lost any sense of purpose, and I have struggled with mental well-being. Creating this podcast has allowed me to move my 28yrs of production skills onto an online medium, facilitating creativity, giving my life meaning, and supporting a sense of mental well-being, all within my current capacity. Assistance from crowdfunding would help me to remain relevant.

Crowd Funding will allow us to create Season One & Two, book the podcast studio for recording, for pre and post-production, will enable us to upload the video podcast content to Spotify and allow for paid social media marketing. Our pilot has received unbelievable interest, and we have secured a healthy list of guests ready to be interviewed. We have momentum and want to move forward with the project, so funding is needed as soon as possible.

Recording this podcast series will benefit all those looking for connection or support. Due to the recent fallout from lockdowns, social distancing and isolation, communities have become fragmented, and many have lost their income. Some may have lost loved ones. Storytelling connects communities and helps us make sense of the world. We can safely experience peril through a story without actually being in danger. In our pilot series, OHE has recorded many stories that created an emotional connection.

Up to now, I, Claire Tierney, have self-funded the creation of OHE- the website, domain name and branding; and with Anna Winter, we created the Our Human Experience (OHE) pilot. This 12 episode pilot is live on our YouTube channel, and the episodes can be found on our webpage www.ourhumanexperience.com.au.

OHE intends to become independently funded by creating traction through content and marketing, which will allow us to approach businesses for sponsorship and advertising.

I don’t think I can effectively express how grateful I am for all of the support received to get the pilot series recorded, plus the excellent feedback provided by the recorded guests. Crowdfunding is an extraordinary opportunity, and any financial aid received is greatly appreciated.
