Hi, my name is Richard. I'm raising funds to oppose turning part of Verdin Park into a car park.
Verdin Park has always been more than just a patch of grass to me; it’s where families picnic, children learn to ride their first bikes, and where many of us take a moment to breathe in a busy world. It’s the heart of our community.
When I first heard about plans to pave over part of the park to make way for a hospital staff car park, I felt disbelief ... then determination. Like everyone else, I support better healthcare and the new hospital. But taking away green space, especially one given to the people of Northwich for recreation and wellbeing, is not the way to do it.
We have an existing car park just minutes away. This isn’t about opposing progress; it’s about protecting something irreplaceable.
Unfortunately, defending what’s right often takes more than passion. Legal representation is essential to make our case properly at the planning committee and, if necessary, to challenge the decision further.
Your contribution will go directly towards legal advice and representation to give our community a fair voice in this process. Every pound helps ensure Verdin Park remains a place for people, not parking.
Together, we can protect our park — for today, and for the generations that come after us.
