Every December, during the long school holidays, girls undergo Female Genital Mutilation, in a harmful traditional practice believed to "preserve purity."
FGM holiday cutting is traditionally done during the Christmas break to give the girl's bodies time to heal.
The dangerous zones right now are North and East Kenya, Tanzania, and parts of West Africa.
And, this Christmas the danger is greater than ever because direct funding to grassroots women has been badly hit by the tragedies of Sudan, Gaza and Ukraine.
So now Anti-FGM grassroots activists - most of them women - are taking direct action.
Help us raise £20,000 to help prevent and curb FGM over the high danger FGM Christmas weeks for the following interventions:
- Intense radio campaigns
- Shelters for girls
- Petrol for police to take action
- Transport for activists to reach hotspot areas
- Phone bundles for activists
- Scaling of the whistleblowers map across the hot-spot areas
- Social media campaigns
Better still donate monthly here; to back the women on the frontline.
230 million girls and women are living with FGM today according to the UN.
But with your help these powerful and media campaigns will help end it.
