Our neighbor is a grandmother, community leader, and disabled veteran. She is a Black Indigenous elder, and in need of urgent financial support to stop an impending eviction and remain in her home. Our neighbor has chosen to remain anonymous for her safety.

In addition to stopping her eviction, your donations will help create some breathing room for our neighbor so that she is able to recover from a long period of financial hardship and housing insecurity. Your donations will directly support her to access trauma healing, pay for groceries, buy a used car, pay off debts, and cover child-related expenses.

Our neighbor is claiming her power to appeal to the collective’s power, protecting herself from accumulating more trauma during the violence of eviction under racial capitalism. We are being asked to go beyond witnessing and to extend ourselves towards action (wisdom from Layla K. Feghali).
