Emergency Fund to Bring Mama Laila Home
Donation protected
My mom, Laila, was detained on August 2nd, 2018 by ICE in the Syracuse, NY office and immediately transferred to a Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, NY. She has not been allowed bond while she awaits removal proceedings and possible deportation. She has been in detention for over 6 months missing birthdays, holidays and her freedom. Our family has essentially been ripped apart right before our eyes. We all miss her dearly. She has permanent resident status and has been in the US for 20 years. My mother is 53 years old and came to the US from Venezuela in 1994. She owns her own home in Syracuse, has 5 children, 3 of whom live in the US, 2 grandchildren and works to support her home and family. She takes great pride in helping raise her 2 grandchildren. We have retained lawyers and have had several court appearances to try and grant a stay of deportation and ICE has threatened to draw up travel documents. With additional appeals being needed, my Mom is asking for help to cover the legal fees to prevent being deported to Venezuela which is in a state of crisis and to cover some home expenses from not having income for over 6 months. Please donate if possible and spread awareness by sharing this far and wide in hopes of bringing Mama Laila home. We truly appreciate every thought and prayer, I'm not sure what I did to deserve such an amazing mom but I'm thankful and want to bring her home.
