Hi! My name is Marissa and I’m a new business owner in downtown Johnstown. Ever since I moved in, I’ve noticed a huge problem with feral cats in downtown Johnstown. There are roughly 15-20 feral cats behind my business. (I’m sure there are WAY more, but that’s what I’ve counted). This has been an ongoing issue for many, many years. Unfortunately, the city has no answers and most shelters are full or don’t have the resources to deal with feral cats. It’s mating season and they are constantly mating, which means we will be having tons of kittens shortly. I’ve seen a few that haven’t made it (either sick or from cold). It’s HEARTBREAKING. They are constantly meowing for food, shelter, anything to keep them alive.

I’ve decided to take this on, and spay and neuter as many as I can trap. Someone has to help them, and I can’t stand it any longer watching them suffer. I’ve found a program/organization that will spay and neuter them for $75 each. Then I will release them. As a new business owner, I cannot afford this on my own, but it HAS to be done. Please consider donating to these cats who are starving, freezing, mating 24/7 (some unwillingly), and struggling for survival. We have to do something and stop this from spreading. It won’t eliminate the problem, but they will be neutered and spayed, which is extremely important. Even $5 helps. Thank you for your generosity
