Stop 233 Acre Solar Plant at Hawksworth & Thoroton
Donation protected
Full details of the application and its refusal can be found HERE .
The siting of an industrial power plant covering 233 acres of good arable farmland will destroy not only the landscape but also the setting of two conservation villages for the next 40 years.
Rushcliffe Borough Council turned down a proposal from a multi-national company called RES for this scheme in March 2023.
RES have appealed against that decision and the appeal is due to be heard on 11th June 2024. Clearly if this scheme were to go ahead, it would drastically affect not only local residents, but also the many people who enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding and bird watching in what has been official recognised as the South Nottinghamshire Farmlands Character Area.
For the Appeal Hearing Hawksworth and Thoroton need professional help in presenting their case against RES. The professional help required will be from Landscape and Planning experts who are skilled in appeal cases. This costs money and we are currently raising as much as we can from our two small villages. We would appreciate any help you can give us.
