Stop Illegal Dumping - Help Save NJ & Vernon, NJ

Our Mission
We have gained some traction over the past month and now have the attention of local government as well as state government. Although the organization started with the Vernon, NJ issue, this is not what we are all about. Our mission also includes pushing our state legislators to put laws in place to prevent this from happening in other parts of the state, while also putting in place heavy penalties for not only the individuals that create these dump sites, but also those who take advantage of them. We need your help to do this. We are taking it upon ourselves to sell shirts and signs and other materials that create awareness for our cause. We can only raise so much money this way. We have gained a media following and this has become a priority with our town government as well as the Sussex County government. Help us help the state of NJ. Please visit our website at www.endvernondumping.org . Below is a story of how we started this.
Please help us fund this fight. Some individuals have spent over $25,000 on their own to fight this and have made slow progress. Now we are a group of about 100 strong and growing. Please be part of this fight for the environment's sake. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
This money will be used for the costs associated with: Protests & Materials. This is not an inexpensive task and we will continue until NJ passes laws that make sure our children don't have to do this. We assure you that every step has been taken to ensure that the money is spent wisely. We have a 6 person board in place that must approve all spending.
Our Story in Vernon
For years a resident of our town has been profiting by turning his residential zoned property into a construction waste dump. Every day dump trucks, some without license plates or surface graphics identifying their ownership, show up at 3 Silver Spruce Drive in Vernon, dumping loads of mixed construction waste of seriously questionable content. The only way to confirm if there is or is not a significant danger to the health of the citizens and especially the children of Vernon is to do independent water well, water run-off and deep core soil testing on a scheduled basis underneath the mountains of waste created by this practice.
What's at stake: Nothing less than the safety of our water supply, the health of our children, the value of our homes and our community's ability to grow and thrive. Numerous attempts have been made to seek proper redress by various good citizens of our town. Mayor Harry J. Shortway and congressman Josh Gottheimer are fully aligned with our cause and have acted aggressively on our behalf to the extent possible so far. Now it's time for all of us to stand up, be counted and to join this important effort.
This will hopefully fold over into new stricter laws in NJ regarding these activities. Right now, these laws are almost non existent
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
