Stop Greyhounds Suffering

Caged have worked specifically to raise awareness for Greyhounds since 2012.

We have carried out a private criminal prosecution and stood facing a licensed greyhound trainer in court where their Greyhound Governing Body behaved as a union rather than a regulator- The video footage used in court has been uploaded to YouTube

We have seen RCVS veterinary staff who supported greyhound racing disciplined

We have been the brunt of a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority for our billboard campaigns and we have won

We have captured evidence of greyhounds being injected at racing events where nobody else including the RSPCA or Police would venture with us - and what resulted in a written police apology after an intended prosecution by Caged was possibly obstructed through failures in our justice system.

There are 21 race tracks left including those unregulated and as expected the number very slightly fluctuates - but Greyhounds don't just suffer on the tracks - they suffer behind closed doors, on greyhound trainer premises.

Caged want to take you, the public behind the scenes with us.
We have lots more material that we want to share but we can only do this via a new larger website that will allow us to reach out to the wider public.

However we won't stop there - we want the Greyhound racing industry to realise that they cannot condemn billboards that speak the truth.
We want to use a series of these same billboards across the whole of the UK.

While we support a ban on greyhound racing, the government are firmly opposing one.
We need the cruelty of greyhound racing both regulated and unregulated to be fully recognised.

Education and awareness works. With joint effort the number of greyhound racing tracks both regulated and non regulated will continue to reduce until it ceases to exist.
How do we know?
When we became involved in 2012 there were over 30 licensed and unlicensed race tracks. We have seen over a third of these tracks close during our time campaigning.

Since Covid pandemic our funds have seriously dwindled and our work slowed down but it's time to renew our campaign and pick our momentum back up.

We have lots in the pipeline including a London March for the Greyhounds in 2026, as it will mark 100yrs since cruel greyhound racing began. A new Caged website is in the making and we intend to bring a new series of billboards.
