Stop Asian Hate Philly SEPTA Incident

This fundraiser is for seven Asian American high school students who were violently attacked in a hate crime on 11/17/21 on a Philadelphia train as they were going home from school.  The incident drew national attention.  See the NBC Philadelphia news article here.

All funds will be used towards medical expenses, lost wages, translation services, transportation costs and other expenses incurred by the families as they faced intense public scrutiny and demands on their time while also trying to heal from this incident.  As the pastor of a local church called the Philadelphia Praise Center , I’ve already been directly working with the victims and their families to secure legal assistance, trauma counseling, translators and alternative transportation to school.

The church will distribute the funds to the six families who have agreed to accept funds. Funds will be distributed via check or bank/wire transfer.

These victims deserve support in their journey to heal and to seek justice, as incidents like this can cause lasting psychological damage, loss of privacy, and isolation etc.  Please join me in supporting these families.

If you can't donate right now, please share widely with your networks. Every contribution is greatly appreciated!
