Aloha!
I am the father of this amazing and innocent little boy - Ashton. Fifteen years ago I moved from the Calgary area to Hawaii to pursue my business interests. I later married and was blessed with this wonderful little boy. When he was just three years old, I learned of the abuse taking place in his mother's home and have consequently been fighting for sole physical and legal custody for nearly nine years.
When this nightmare began in 2013, the Hawaii court judge told me that it just may take the abuser in the other home to break his arm or something worse to have the courts do anything! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! But sure enough, Ashton was beaten in his mom’s home and his arm was indeed broken! So to protect my son from the radical child abuse laws in Hawaii, or lack thereof, I have been fighting the courts to help rescue my son from many other accounts of physical, as well as sexual and emotional, abuse. Every child should enjoy their childhood, sports and school - of which he’s an honour student - without the burdensome stress and anxiety of horrific harm.
Over the last several years I have put my entire life on hold to save my son’s precious life, as a father should! I declined a generous job offer on the mainland to continue to fight the bureaucracy who are paid by tax dollars to do their job. But if they won't protect him, I must! And in doing so, I see my responsibility to also advocate for the many other parents in this highly contested life or death situation.

Ashton was recently abused again and finally, I have found a window of opportunity to file for us to return to Canada permanently where Ashton can see the best doctors and therapists to aid in his recovery from these continued injustices. A decision on our relocation will be made at a custody hearing scheduled for April 15th.
I poured every last drop of sweat, blood and dollars into this battle to protect my son and to convince the members of the justice system in Hawaii to do the same! I am burnt out, my financial and emotional resources have been depleted, but I will never give up on my hope for a better future for Ashton!
My legal team won't start the process of our relocation motion and hearing until I pay and time is running out. I humbly ask that you lock arms with me as a single father to keep my son safe, and the only way to do so is for us to move away from Hawaii where the legal system requires that a child almost has to die before they step in to help the vulnerable.
I sincerely thank you all across the world who may want to help me protect Ashton’s life, as I can no longer fight this battle on my own!
God Bless,
Jason Brown
