Stop Animal Cruelty: Support Wildlife After a Tragic Attack

Hello, my name is Valerie, and I am reaching out to raise awareness and support for a devastating event that occurred on December 28, 2024. My parents were witness to an unimaginable act of cruelty when a group of juveniles drove through the back of their canal, where dozens of ducks, geese, and other small wildlife sleep at night.

Around 7:45 PM, these juveniles deliberately drove up and down a strip of grass, intentionally running over at least 30 geese, killing many and injuring others. My parents tried to stop the juveniles from running over the animals. They showed no remorse, laughing and shouting profanities at my parents as they watched in horror. My parents, who were having dinner at the time, were quick to react. Instead of just recording the event, they immediately rushed outside to try to scare the animals away from the off-road vehicle the juveniles were driving and to stop the kids from causing more devastation.

Despite their efforts, the teens sped off, and my parents quickly got in their own cars to pursue them. Unfortunately, they lost sight of the group while driving through their neighborhood. They searched tirelessly but were unable to locate the culprits.

Since the media picked up on this crime, my parents have been flooded with messages on Facebook and other social platforms from people asking how they can help. To honor the animals affected, my parents would like to collect donations to support local wildlife sanctuaries, shelters, and rescues.

The day after the incident, my parents were able to rescue one of the geese that survived the attack. It had two broken legs, but thanks to a nearby wildlife rescue center, it is now receiving care and treatment.

We are hoping to raise funds to aid in the recovery of other wildlife victims, support rescue organizations, and help prevent future tragedies like this one. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
