Imagine a 24-hour mega gas station/truck stop sitting on a knoll in the middle of a rural/semi-rural intersection in historic El Prado. See the glaring lights polluting the night-time skies for miles around. Listen to the smelly, loud, idling trucks lining adjacent highways waiting for daylight. Think of the problems created with booze available until midnight. Not a pretty picture for Taos' rural north side.

Allsups must be stopped from building at the intersection of Hwys. 522/150/64, fondly called the OBL, the Old Blinking Light. Spillage from three diesel bays and 24 gas pumps very close to a major acequia will eventually pollute the nearby water course. An already dangerous intersection will become even more dangerous. This kind of development will set a precedent for more inappropriate building on the north side of Taos.

After consulting two lawyers to test the viability of our arguments, private citizens have filed two Appeals in the 8th District Court of Taos County. We have a good case and are moving forward to raise $15,000 to pay our lawyer. Will you please help?
