Stonington house fire and memorial fund

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we have to share the passing of my aunt, Diane Gillece. A loved and respected woman in the community, Diane tragically lost her life in a fire at the family’s home just after Christmas on December 28th. Her daughter, Ashley, and grandson, Aiden, escaped and were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. They’ve since been released. Scott, her husband of 32 years, received the unimaginable news while at work.

If you knew Diane you knew how humorous, giving and friendly she was. I want to ease the burden on her family so they can grieve their loss without worrying about everyday expenses and housing. The family is now displaced because of the damage sustained to the home. The funds will help with memorial expenses and a burial plot. They will also be used toward the immediate needs of Diane’s husband, Scott, daughter, Ashley, and grandson, Aiden, with whom she shared the family home.

A memorial to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at a later date. Because of the shock of her loss, the family has asked for time and privacy to grieve.

If you’d wish to donate to help the Gifford/Gillece family, or share this with all who would like to help, thank you so much! And thank you to all of the friends, family, and community who have asked for this fundraiser so we can support Scott, Aiden and Ashley at this difficult time.
