Stoned Short Film
What's good everyone! My name is Jonathon Davis, I'm a filmmaker from Detroit. I'm planning to shoot a short film starting September or October in the city. The film is a stoner comedy that will have a tone that resembles Friday with a mix with Atlanta. The film is written by me and my good friend Aaron Cooper, before writing Stoned, we worked horrible jobs(mainly restaurants) together. This inspired a story that some might call semi-biographical about overworked teen Jon, who after losing his beloved job a domino effect of shenanigans breaking him down but gets help from his stoner older best friend AJ who tries to cheer him up with his favorite pastime smoking.
This film means a lot to me, our main goal when writing Stoned wasn't to glamourize weed smoking but to show the importance of friendship, acknowledging your own self-worth, and getting back up after life knocks you down. We can't wait to share our story with yall!
The funds raised will go toward a new audio equipment package, meals for the cast & crew during production days, advertising, film festival submission fees, and business legal transactions.
