Stone Church Music Club - Covid Fund

Donation protected
Hey!

My name’s Dylan, and in a minute I’m going to ask you to chip in to the Stone Church COVID Fund but let me take a second to tell you a bit about why.

I remember the first time I saw the Church atop the big staircase on Zion Hill. It was my freshman year at UNH and my brother drove down to see a local band he liked on a warm Thursday evening in the fall. I remember walking in and seeing the iron beams, stone walls, dimly lit stage and that wavy copper bar. I immediately knew I was in a place that was loved by many.

The Stone Church’s  doors have been open for blues, rock and reggae for 50 years now. Since the 70’s Stone Church has been rooted in community - providing everything from a local stage for musicians to those legendary roast beef dinners people used to pay nickels for. The Stone Church has been a creative home to thousands of people over the years.  The Church has always been about the music. Providing music all week has never been about profit, it's always been about love. Love for music, arts, dancing, friendship and jams.

I was lucky enough to get to bartend at the church for a year and some. I remember nights when it seemed like everyone from the town was up there. Some of my favorite nights were Thursday Irish nights, the music, families, kids, dancing and shanties are a beautiful example of what the Stone Church is to so many.

The Stone Church has been a place for families, friends, artists and even some rock legends... Their goal has always been the same: Give good people a place to listen to music they love in an environment that feels like theirs.

Stone Church has always supported the music community.  But right now, I’m asking the community to support the Church. COVID-19 has shut down most aspects of our society, and the arts have been hit especially hard. The Stone Church relies on weekly shows to keep the speakers on and the stage lit. They have had to cancel many amazing shows and refund tickets.  Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop when the music does. Loans,Insurance, utilities, music licenses, taxes…

The Stone Church is in need of raising $8,000 dollars to support it through this epidemic. This money will cover a mix of bills to make sure the doors can be open to the community as soon as we take care of this virus. The music must go on.

Peace, love and music - Dylan
