Stoltzfus House Fire Fund

Donation protected

On Sunday morning, April 13th the Stoltzfus family sang for the Sunday morning livestream. That evening at approximately 7:30 while they were all in a small studio beside the house their house caught on fire. By the time they saw it the house was almost fully engulfed. After attempting to pull some things out they realized it was no longer safe and moved back from the fire. At almost the same time the family saw the fire their neighbor, Wilmer Stoltzfus saw it as well. They called 911 and rushed over to help but were only able to comfort the family as they watched it burn. Wilmer immediately sent a message to a church men's group and people started showing up in a few minutes. The first responders came soon after and immediately began to knock down the flames. At approximately 10 pm the fire was under control and the firefighters were able to extract some of the salvageable items from the basement. The family was able to spend the night with Lavina's (Marlin's wife) mother's house across the road.

They are thankful for safety and the support they have received. There was no coverage on the home and there will be considerable cost in rebuilding. Current estimates put it at +/- $200,000. Any help is appreciated. The donation target will be updated when funding is received from other sources. Donations will be handled through Greene County Mennonite Church.
