Maureen & Michael:
This amazing couple spends their lives taking care of others. Maureen is an emergency room trauma and flight nurse, and Michael is a fireman and paramedic. This is a special week for them as they are getting married October 7.
They were ready to begin their adventure through the National Parks on the way to their wedding location in the Grand Tetons, a place that holds special meaning for both of them. Afterwards a multi-week honeymoon through more National Parks to enjoy the American west.
They planned to leave this morning at 3am and had the rental car loaded to go. This included more than $15k in camping and hiking gear, gifts for their wedding party and guests, 2/3 of each of their wardrobes, and much more. However, at around 2:30am on 10/2, their rental car was stolen from their driveway with everything inside. Leaving them, essentially, with nothing.
This appalling act is a violation that has caused them to consider canceling all but the couple days for the wedding, as family and friends already have plans to be there. They had every intention of making this trip the best for everyone and put a lot of love and attention and hard work into every detail. However, that is all gone, and they barely have enough clothes to even go on the leg of their trip to be married, nonetheless everything else that was lost for the rest of their post wedding honeymoon plans.
As we hope you understand they are having some difficulty navigating this challenge. Between the stresses of the ensuing legal steps, the trip to their dream destination to be married being cut short, and the natural fluster of a wedding, we put this together to do everything we can to assist in helping to mitigate some of these burdens. It is our goal to make this a wonderful, special time in spite of this horrific act.
