Hello, my name is Beth Evans. On July 15th my 2015 Toyota Prius with over 150,000 miles on it and in desperate need of a car wash was stolen from outside my apartment building. I called the police and with help from the insurance locator in my car, I was able to give the police the address where my car was located. They said the thief, who wasn’t caught, used a key fob to reprogram my car so they could steal it. They recovered it and towed it to the Long Beach Police tow yard. I went down there yesterday and it cost me $317. I called my roadside assistance for a tow to the Toyota Service Department 3 blocks away. Normally, the tow would cost me nothing, but because it was in the tow yard I had to pay $85. To have my key fob re-programmed is costing $1,023which I don’t have and starting today, I will have to pay Toyota a storage fee until I come up with the money. After paying for my monthly necessities, I only have $100 left over for wants! I want my car back! Could you please help? Thank you! I will pay it forward!
