At 11 years old, Danica Stockwell is a walking miracle.
She was born on January 26th, 2014, followed by 5.5 days on life support and an additional 4 weeks in the NICU due to pulmonary artery hypertension. After several appointments, hospital visits, and procedures, Danica was diagnosed with a very rare lung disease called Diffuse Lung Disease with Surfactant Protein C Deficiency and possible TTF1.
For 11 years, Danica has been in and out of hospitals, both locally and nationally—making frequent visits to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and two substantial visits to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. She remains dependent on Oxygen and regular medications every single day and a feeding tube through the night. Despite these less than ideal circumstances for a young girl, she inspires all of us with a beautiful smile that can light up any room and such an immense amount of faith that God is in control.
This summer (2025), Danica is due for a third evaluation by the medical team at Texas Children’s Hospital to assess her health status and determine her proximity to a lung transplant. This visit does not come without significant financial cost for transportation, lodging, food, and medical expenses.
If you feel led to give, know that any gift is very much appreciated and we are so grateful. Regardless of your ability to help monetarily, we simply ask for continued prayers for Danica and her family. Thank you for walking alongside the Stockwell family in this ongoing journey!
