Samantha’s Cancer Battle

It is with great sadness and heartache that I share that my sister Samantha Benitez has breast/lymphoma cancer.

A little backstory on my sister:

She grew up here locally in San Marcos. I’m sure many of you know her. She is a mother to 5 beautiful kids and is expecting her 6th. She is fiancée to Jeremy Castillon. The Daughter of Richard Benitez and Mary/Ruben Flores. She has 1 sister and 2 brothers. She is a stay at home mom and recently discovered a nodule in her breast around August, she recently went to go get everything checked out and come to find out she has Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. It is a form of aggressive breast cancer. The biomarkers are negative so we’re going in blind and the doctors have no idea what category chemotherapy is needed but all we know is that we will start chemotherapy ASAP. She will have a chemo port placed in her neck next Tuesday. She has a tumor in her right breast that has spread to her lymph nodes. She is going to have to undergo chemotherapy as the tumor is too big to operate on at this moment. We are all coming together for this beautiful family because those sweet babies need her and our family. We are asking for donations to go towards bills, toiletries, groceries, medical bills, etc. If you cannot donate we just ask for prayers during this difficult time for everyone involved. We know how powerful our God is and we just need strength to get through this horrible time. Being pregnant and having to go through chemotherapy sounds impossible but it’s not. Her little body will go through a lot but she will come out a survivor. I am my sisters keeper and I know that Jesus Christ has the last say not science.
