With your help, the St. Michaels Travel Club will be taking 18 deserving high school students to Costa Rica for a cultural and language exchange this summer. Our goal is to give the future leaders of the Eastern Shore community a global perspective that extends far beyond the shores of the Chesapeake.
We are located in St. Michaels, Maryland, a town of roughly 1500 people. Our town relies on tourism, crabbing, farming, and the service industries.

Throughout the past year, we have raised $6000 on our own through bracelet sales, bake sales, and restaurant fundraisers. But now we need our community's assistance. Our students would not be able to afford this trip without fundraising efforts. We have bought plane our tickets, but we are short $6000 to pay for the homestay, language school, and excursions.
Students will be traveling for 9 days to Santa Domingo de Heredia, outside of San Jose, Costa Rica. They will attend Spanish language school, live with host families, and go on cultural excursions.

Many of our students have never been on a plane; many work 20+ hours outside of school to support themselves or their families. They are hard-working, academically focused kids who would normally not have the chance to travel outside of the country.
Our trip leaves from Baltimore on June 26th. We need your help now! Any amount would be greatly appreciated ~ muchísimas graciás!
