Tricycles for St Johns School

Tax deductible
"Leave this world a little better than you found it."
- Robert Baden-Powell

This year our youngest child started pre-school at St. John's Lutheran. The school has been an amazing experience for our daughter. We've been impressed by their keen focus on developing curious minds and their kind and thoughtful approach to caring for the hearts of the children.

Every day, when I would pick up my daughter up from school, I noticed a pattern. Almost daily, my daughter was riding one of the two tricycles or waiting in line for her next turn. Not only was it her favorite pastime, but the favorite activity of all of the other children.

One day, I casually mentioned how neat it was that the children loved the tricycles so much and one of the teachers told me that the kids really loved them and that she'd be sad when they were gone. I pressed to understand more and what she told me was that for decades these tricycles had stood the test of time and love at SJL. They had given endless joy to class after class of preschoolers. But despite their sturdy, silver frames they were slowly deteriorating, and to make matters worse, the company that made them had discontinued them many years before. The tricycles are made by Angeles Corporation (Convert-O Bikes). I thought it would be nice to buy extra tricycles to have on hand and that it would be easy to find one on E-bay or some other sale site. Much to my dismay, these bikes are very rare and even harder to find .

There are very few things in the world as magical as the laughter of a child and these tricycles create joy and laughter for new children year after year. So, like the quote at the beginning of this campaign, let's leave the world a better place then we found it. We invite people from our school, our town, and all over the world to help put together a small fund to purchase these tricycles and maintain the tradition for many years to come.

We'll work with this Saint John's tricycle fund so that when a Converto Bike comes available (or even broken ones to use for parts to repair the current ones) we'll buy them up and keep making these tricycles available to the next generation of beautiful preschoolers.
