Stinky Pete's Memorial Fund and Vet Expenses
Donation protected
Meet Pete, otherwise known affectionately as “Stinky Pete.” About four years ago our good friend and wonderful dog dad, Corey, adopted Pete from our rescue after we had found him as a puppy in Little Haiti living on the streets. Corey, without hesitation, took him back home to Nashville and helped rehabilitate Pete back to health from the skinny little malnourished pup with a skin condition into a healthy, sweet, and very playful dog. Sadly, over the weekend and late at night, Pete was discovered in the bathroom shaking and had lost the use of his back legs. He was immediately taken to the emergency vet where doctors performed a series of tests, including an MRI. It was soon discovered that Pete has IVDD, which is a spinal disorder that follows from the herniating of an intervertebral disc inside an afflicted dog. Long story short, it’s an issue with his spine, specifically, a potential slipped disc. Pete’s still at the emergency vet receiving his care while doctors try to navigate the outcome of what Pete’s medical future looks like. As of now, there is a chance of complete loss of function in his back legs. Whatever the outcome is, one thing is clear, Pete’s medical journey will require a long road of rehabilitation. Currently, Pete’s medical bill is just under $5,000. If you could perhaps donate to Pete’s fund, that would be so greatly appreciated. Even though the bill is high, every single dollar and small donation goes a long way. Pete is a very loved dog. He’s a great boy and needs our help. Whatever comes next for Pete and his recovery, one thing is certain, Corey will stop at nothing to make sure his best companion will be okay.
