Help Save the Stilwell Family Home
Hello, my name is Shawn Stilwell, though many may know me by my chosen name of TeraDyne Ezeri, or my pen name of Gallows Gryph. I hope you will look at my situation and consider donating to help me keep my family home of nearly 38 years.
I'm a near-40-year-old currently living in my family's home in Arkansas, along with my roommate Duran. We're both unemployed, with myself disabled (scoliosis) and trying to start a career as a freelance fiction writer, and Duran being between jobs. We don't have a working vehicle, and thus his options are limited. Another roommate will be joining us as soon as possible to help, but that can't happen until the end of October 2025 at the absolute earliest.
At the end of June 2025, the last of the four parents who raised me, my uncle Billy, passed away due to cancer, leaving myself and his brother as co-owners of the home I grew up in. His brother doesn't live in the home but is on the deed. He was there for Billy, visiting him in the hospice facility when I couldn't, and did all he could for his brother.
My remaining uncle is in need of surgery on his shoulder, and his wife is suffering from both liver cancer and dementia, placing them both in a volatile situation. Due to mounting medical bills, major issues with his own house, and issues with his vehicle, he is in a dire financial situation as well. He has decided to sell his share of the house and is considering a partition lawsuit if necessary to ensure he can take care of himself and his wife. This would result in myself and my roommate effectively being put out on the street. My uncle doesn't really want this, and of course, we don't want to lose a house full of memories for everyone (my uncle included).
Time is what we need, but it's running short. We've been given until November 15th to come up with his share.
This is why I'm reaching out and asking for help, for all of us. I'm asking for help in purchasing his share of the house, which he said would be $60,000 USD, so that he can get the money he needs to continue providing care for his wife and himself, while also securing the house for myself and my roommates to continue living in. I also have to include taxes and fees in our goal because I want him to get as much as he can.
This goal may change depending on his decisions, as this may become strictly to purchase the house from him in court instead of an out-of-court settlement.
Anything beyond the goal set here, I want to go to him with no strings attached. I hold no ill feelings toward him and want to see him and my aunt continue living as happily as they can.
I've turned on autmated goals to help act as milesrones, but if the final goal isn't met, I plan to use the funds to find us a safe place to live.
I do what I'm able to help family, and my uncle and his wife are the closest blood relatives I have left. If you can help us, we would be deeply thankful. Even spreading word to others on social media, blogs, online journals, and other sources would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to stop and hear us out.
