Cancer sucks.
This is my cousin Alex & his precious baby girl Edith and wife Krista. My cousin has been diagnosed with a cancer so rare that there have only been 10 cases in the US since 1992 and he’s one of them. The other 9 have passed on.
We found out 6 weeks ago. It’s a rare bone cancer and was in 5 places in his leg and had moved to his rib. Today we got news it’s in another 2 places in his leg and now in his lung.
No cure. Nothing. Just a pill he can take to prolong his life only months.
Way maker. Miracle worker. This type of cancer takes a GOD sized miracle. I’m not angry, I’m devastated. You see, my aunt, Alex’s mom passed away unexpectedly to a heart attack in her sleep 6 years ago. That loss was almost unbearable for Alex. The thought of losing my cousin like this is unbearable. I have cried so much that I’m physically weak.
Alex is an incredible father and husband! He’s 30. He’s openly shared on Facebook his fear. He’s shared how he is planning things for Krista and Edith for when he passes. Y’all reading his words leaves me breathless. He’s scared, angry, & questioning God. Who wouldn’t be?!
He needs a miracle. And why would God give us one? People die of cancer everyday. Thousands and thousands a year! Why would God perform a miracle for my cousin when He hasn’t for others? I don’t need a reason to be mad at God. He could stop so many things but doesn’t. Facts show me that my cousin will die from this rare cancer but I won’t lose hope. I can’t.
So as we go through this time with my cousin and his sweet family, pray for a miracle, please. But also pray for joy, for healing of hearts, & that we all create precious memories together during this time.
My heart is heavy as the medical bills will start to pile up. Alex got injured on his job as a police office 9 months ago. He has since had surgery and at a check up is where they discovered the cancer. More than anything I want Alex to just focus on time with his girls. If you can bless them financially in any way to help with medical bills, I thank you!
